The Company

In 1964 in Alessandria, Margherita and Giovanni Cane opened the Grissinificio ValPadana.

Thanks to to the years of experience they had gained in cereal cultivation and catering, they understood that the secret to producing a quality breadstick was the selection of the best ingredients as well as to follow the traditional recipes.

Claudio, Carlotta and Giovanni have continued their business and, in 2004, to celebrate their first 40 years of activity, they decided to take the name of one of their breadstick factory’s iconic recipes, PAN DEI MASSI, and make it their brand.

The name “Pan dei Massi” derives from the millstones of the ancient Piedmont flour mills: the “stones” from which the flour, the main ingredient of the breadsticks, is born.

The passion for pursuing excellence is still that of day one; for this reason, the PAN DEI MASSI brand continues to grow and create new products and new recipes appreciated throughout the world for their true genuineness.

Even today, we are a family-run company that combines passion and respect for tradition with the search for new flavours and new shapes to satisfy the tastes of consumers, even the most demanding ones!
